The entrepreneurship journey is filled with highs and lows. At Sing for Mental Health, we want you to thrive in business and in life.

Our Peer Support Network is a free support service which connects entrepreneurs with trained peer volunteers who are there to support, challenge, and celebrate the highs and lows of the entrepreneurial journey with you.

Important Questions

What is Peer Support?

  • Peer support is a type of mental health support service.

Peer mentors are matched based on similar business experiences and life situations (as applicable). Peers provide guidance and encouragement to fellow entrepreneurs by sharing their experiences and insights. They offer a listening ear, practical mental wellness advice and coping skills, and support to help peers navigate challenges.

Whilst our peers are invaluable and trained in offering support, it is important to remember that they are not mental health professionals. Further, this program does not replace professional mental health counselling or treatment if needed.

How does it work?

  • This service is offered by telephone, text, or email, and can connect people anywhere in Canada who are seeking connection, support, and community.

How will it help me?

Who can participate?

  • A candidate must meet the following criteria to be considered for the program.

    1. Over 18.

    2. Resident of Canada.

    3. Must be able to demonstrate that they are an entrepreneur, solopreneur, founder, or precarious worker.

    4. Must provide a synopsis of the mental health challenges and the type of support they are seeking.

    5. Must demonstrate their understanding that the Peer Support Network is "support" and that it is NOT professional counselling.

    6. After screening, candidates will be interviewed by the Executive Director and Program Coordinator to ensure alignment of the candidate's needs with the services provided within the program.

    7. Final step of the process involves validation and unanimous agreement from the Sing for Mental Health Board of Directors that the candidate and program are a good fit.

  • Participants of the program can create a special connection with their peer mentor, and be able to relieve some of the stress, worries, and fears that come from working as an entrepreneur, solopreneur, founder, or precarious worker.

By fostering a collaborative and empowering environment, peer mentors play a crucial role in building a resilient entrepreneurial community.
